Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

I'm not usually one for sports on games... if I liked sports so much I'd be out throwing a ball around or watching sports, but instead I'm inside, playing my Wii. Although, I'll admit that Wii has gotten a few kewl games, like their Wii Sports, which I thoroughly enjoy so I think that I’m gona definitely like Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games, which is being released this December.

The games settings are based on the official Beijing 2008 Olympic Games venues, which I think is a nice touch. There are a number of events, which you can try to go for gold for. 100 meter, hurdles, high jump and archery are just a couple of the many sports to be available. You'll be able to play with an array of characters including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and a few others. Each character, as in Paper Mario, will have their own skills and strengths. So Peach, being a woman, will be let's say more agile than the ever so strong Bowser.

As with the current Wii games, you'll use the motion sensor Wii remotes to control your character, while you attempt to gain those gold medals. I for one am quite looking forward to it, even if I'm not such a sport game fanatic myself, I think that Nintendo will step it up a little.

Happy Shopping!
