Remote Controlled Tarantula

Monday, December 03, 2007

In the spirit of Christmas and being the tech junkies that we are, we’ve been doing a little, uh, preliminary Christmas shopping I’ve always wanted a remote control aeroplane… ever since I was a kid. But while browsing, trying to decide what which model we were gona buy we came across this remote controlled tarantula which we thought was pretty awesome and so gave up our hopes of being a pilot… for the time being.

I’m pretty petrified of such a big, furry arachnid and was hoping that this remote controlled tarantula would help me overcome my fear a little. It’s not too bad, not terribly life like, but when it’s crawling about, even if I’m the one with the remote, I can’t stand it turning towards my direction… lol With a 25 feet range, it goes forwards, backwards, left and right. Don’t forget the batteries… like we did 4 x AA batteries for the actual spider and a 9 volt battery for the remote.

The texture is hairy and it’s eight creepy little legs move about as you control his movements. It’s a nice gift, a little more adventurous than just a plain ol remote controlled car or something more commonly found.

Happy Shopping!

Fun Fact

Did you know a tarantula can grow up to the size of a dinner plate? Yikes!
