USB Christmas Presents

Thursday, December 06, 2007

I have been browsing through a couple of websites the last couple of weeks where they had a lot of USB gadgets and that is exactly what I am going for. Everything loves a good and cute gadget, whether it has some use to us or none at all. USB gadgets are a lot better because they are all plug and play if you have Windows XP or Windows Vista most will work great on other operating systems but you will need to install the driver first.

Here is a list of a couple of good USB gadget ideas in time for Christmas. Best thing about our list of USB gadgets is that they are affordable and it does not matter if you lose interest in them after a couple of weeks. Some of the USB gadgets make great novelty Christmas presents.

USB Piano – Now this has to be a nifty invention for anybody using a computer or laptop. I saw this online in a catalog the other day and I just wanted to test it out for myself. It is ideal for a smaller table, quality feels great and it sounds great too. Now you can entertain yourself or your friends and it does not cost you fortune if you decide that a USB Piano is not your thing anymore. There will be a proper review on the USB Piano next week.

USB Cup Warmer - A very handy little gadget, one I’ve always wanted but never got ‘cause I just wasn’t sure whether it’d actually work. It’s so simple, you plug it into your Usb port, turn on the on switch and set your little metal mug on it. It keeps it hot for you while your PC takes up all your time. The one I have has a metal lid as well, to help keep in the heat. Some USB Cup Warmers come with extra USB ports as well, so it also works as a USB hub. And some don’t include the actual mug.

USB Turntable – I have found a number of old vinyl records, but it’s still hard to get them to play properly on a record player. Trying to get a working one was hard enough but now I’m struggling to get the speakers to work on it… sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn’t. Very frustrating. The USB Turntable is a great solution. It allows you to convert those records to MP3, WMA or WAV files on your PC. Before this very handy idea, converting Vinyl to CD was an expensive process, now it’s just so much easier and still is able to retain it’s high quality sound. You just simply plug the USB Turntable into your PC’s USB port and viola. You can listen to it on your PC once converted or even just listen through the turntable itself, which is obviously connected to your PC’s speakers.

Also, every second teenager wants to be a DJ and this would be the perfect USB gadget for them start to mix around with their Vinyl’s. Tape input allows a tape player to be connected to transfer tapes 33 and 45rpm buttons. The best thing about the USB turntable is that it weighs about 5kg, not too heavy to take around a friends place for more fun.
