USBCard PRO
Monday, December 24, 2007I came across what first appeared to be an interesting gadget while surfing the web this weekend. With all the added advertising, you first think wow, what a kewl little credit card sized USB drive, but it’s basically just that. A credit card sized USB drive.
With capacities at 256MB, 512MB or 1GB, the USBCard Pro comes in silver. It’s shape and size, they boast, makes for easy storing, like in your wallet with your other credit cards. Ok, yeah I guess that’s true, but any true geek at heart will know that anything which has valuable information should be kept in separate places… one advertising angle with the USBCard Pro is that you can keep your sensitive data on it, which I think is silly. It’s a USB drive, keep what ever the hell you want on it. Just because it’s the shape and size of a fancy little silver credit card, doesn’t make it any more qualified to keep your so called sensitive information on it.

Separate software which allows for added security is not included with this USBCard Pro, it is sold
separately, as with any other USB storage device.
So let’s see. It is USB 2.0 compliant, as should any latest USB device be. There is a flexible, integrated USB cable which basically pulls out of the card itself. They boats ultra fast data transfer… lol which my current USB 2.0 USB KEYS, storage devices, USB PENS, USB STICKS, or what ever else you wish to call them, they all have super fast data transfer. Yes, as USB 2.0 is faster than the original USB… it shouldn’t matter what the freakin casing looks like. I find it pretty awful really, that this product is being offered at such a high price for doing nothing more than what it’s
SUPPOSE to do.
Don’t buy it, there are way cheaper and even nicer looking USB keys out there. Oh yeah and it’s said that the USBCard Pro is water resistant. Well, as water resistant as any other USB key. Mine gets a wash every so often, as it’s so small I forget it in my pockets.
Happy Shopping!
