GPS Tracking Key
Tuesday, January 08, 2008In this day and age, with technology booming and movie legends like 007 spiking our need for extra minute, high tech gadgetry, I guess it’s no wonder you can now have your car tracked and keep an eye on the drivers comings and goings.
I suppose it could be used to keep an eye on your newly licensed teenage drivers or even to put your mind at ease if you suspect an unfaithful partner. Of course not just for the little people, the GPS Tracking Key can be used with business, mostly those specialising in transportation like taxis, busses, limos, removals vans, etc.
The GPS Tracking Key measures at 3.8 inches in length and 1.46 inches in width, pocket sized. Two AAA batteries keep it running for around two weeks (depending on driving time and type of batteries. About two weeks based on a two hour a day total driving time). Of course to get more out of it, as with any electronic advice, I’d suggest investing in some lithium batteries.

A strong magnetic strip allows for instant mounting to your car, either inside or outside. As the GPS Tracking Key is water resistant, it’ll withstand the elements and can even be hidden underneath the car. Once mounted, the GPS Tracking Key starts to immediately receive signals from the 24 Department of Defence GPS satellites orbiting earth. Information you’ll get includes where the mounted car has travelled, how fast it was going and what stops it made, including how long those stops were for. This data is accurate for up to 2.5 metres. Now accessing this data is also not too hard. Via a USB device plugged into your PC, you can download the data online. You can use web applications, like Google Earth, to display this data. Or simply use the provided software.
If I had a car, I would definitely get me one of these

Not that I need it of course, although, I might look into the cost of it and get myself a few anyway… I could go all 007 with my neighbours
Happy Shopping!
