Eye-Fi Magic
Tuesday, February 12, 2008Technology is always changing into better a thing which is a great thing if you are into gadgets and tech toys like most of us living in this day and age. A few clever folks always find something new they can push the boundaries with and I do envy them for being so clever and getting their idea out on the shelves.

Our latest technology find brings photographers closer to the internet to share their snaps with the world or loved ones. This new and exciting invention is called Eye-Fi. It sounds a bit bizarre but Eye-Fi makes a lot of sense. Photographers can snap their pictures and the SD card immediately sends it to the computer so that by the time you reach your computer, it will be sitting there waiting for you to edit and tweak as you please.

It basically makes any digital camera a wireless device. The only bad thing about the Eye-Fi is that it’s only SD Memory and it does not support hotspots. The hotspots business makes me feel a lot better; do not want to be sending photos over a shared wireless (unsecured) connection for someone bright to steal them from me. The Eye-fi is not a bad idea at all, a start of something beautiful but I do see the need for them to work a lot more on the technology to make it into every photographers bag by the end of next year.

If you own a wireless network at home, then why don’t you check out the eye-fi when taking a few snaps at home, might even inspire you to do a bit more photography?
