C1000 Golf Watch – Touch Screen Watch Phone
Monday, February 25, 2008Again with the gadgets, smaller, fancier and more expensive. The makings of a most definitely
wanted gadget I’d say

I’m sure lots of people out there have been fascinated with the idea of a genuine, working watch phone, ever since those early years watching spy movies where they had watch phones, talking cars and x-ray glasses.

The C1000 Golf Watch boasts that it’s the worlds smallest touch screen watch phone, which I’m sure, it won’t be for longer. Some people might find this impractical. I mean, a screen so small that it ultimately becomes a watch, how can that be easily used as a phone with a touch screen? Perhaps, for some people, it just isn’t practical. I for one love a nice big phone, like the
LG Viewty or
LG Prada. Large screens. But I’m also a fan of the tiny bits they seem to be making nowadays. And I think the idea of a touch screen watch phone is just awesome.

So the C1000 Golf Watch has a 1.5 inch 260k colour touch screen. It supports a 176x220 resolution. It has GSM connectivity as well as Bluetooth. 60 MB onboard memory, which I know doesn’t sound like a lot and in fact isn’t. My
PDA only has around that much, but the only thing that eats my memory is photos and videos, so I suppose for a watch phone, it’s ok. The watch itself is a little bigger than an ordinary men’s watch. It even offers audio and video playback with its built in media player. There is a headphones socket on the side. Probably not the most practical part though, wires from your wrist to your ear… maybe only if you have somewhere to rest your arm, like a window sill or arm rest. Oh and the pen, for the touch screen, fits snugly into the phone and you just slide the underside of the watch off, to fit your Sim card into it’s slot.

I do so look forward to the day that these types of gadgets can be found on everyone, when technology is taking us even further.
