Online Faxing

I thought I’d make a quick post regarding online faxing, seeing as I’ve spent the last week using trials for various sites. Now it use to be easier when we were all still on dial up, as you could get a program which would fax for free, but since our broadband now no longer uses a modem to dial in through your telephone line, that no longer exists. Unless of course you decide to switch over to your modem and actually still have a dial up account. Even if you still had all this, which I’m sure most of us don’t anymore, it’d still be a bit of a hassle.

Now the most popular online faxing service seems to be EFax which I strongly DO NOT recommend. It’s an awful service. It’s over priced for one and I am not too keen on a service which you have to phone customer services to cancel your subscription to. That’s just another way for them to milk every last penny they can.

I’ve used various sites, but have found that Popfax is the best of the lot. The prices are much better and the service is pretty good. The actual faxing rates are cheaper than the others I’ve seen and the monthly subscription is too. Their customer services seems pretty reasonable as well, they didn’t take too long to reply to my queries. Only thing which was a bit of a disappointment was that they only have a 3 day trial, unlike the usual 30 day. But it’s worth your money, if you fax a lot that is. You’ll get your own unique fax number which people can fax you on and your faxes are emailed to your desired email address as soon as they’re received. A copy is also saved online for you to access if you log into popfax.com.

I also like their various payment options, not just your credit card but you can use PayPal as a form of payment or even pay the money in directly into their bank account. I’ve been using their services quite a bit lately, as certain members of my family don’t really use email yet and it’s been great and easy for a change.
