RFID Digital Door Lock
Wednesday, August 22, 2007I come from a country with an extremely high crime rate. I am use to sleeping with a 8inch knife under my pillow, a stun gun in my handbag and a gun under my bed. There wasn't one single beautiful house that wasn't spoiled by burglar bars. It was something I had to become accustomed to here in the UK, the lack of burglar bars on windows. Now if you take this and combine it with my intense love for gadgets, you're basically left with an electronically protected house. Think I'll devote the next few blog posts to this.

The RFID Digital Door Lock not only looks good (like out of a high tech lab you always see on TV) but it is quite secure. Seeing as there is no keyhole, it's virtually pickproof. You unlock the RFID Digital Door Lock either with your RFID card (also comes with a keyfob) or pin. Once the RFID card or keyfod is read by the reader button, it authenticates and unlocks your door. Pins can be changed and RFID cards can be reprogrammed, should you ever loose or misplace them. The RFID Digital Door Lock also comes with a night deadbolt function which I personally think is great, as it disables all external functions, which will make me rest a little easier. It has a built-in alarm which will sound if the door is forcefully opened. When youre out of the house, it has this feature in reverse, an external forced lock feature which includes unauthorised opening through a window or your mail slot.

It comes with an installation guide as well as the mounting hardware and screws. Very important to remember, this is after all a good piece of technology and cannot be exposed to direct rain or snow.
