Lego Mindstorms NXT
Wednesday, August 22, 2007I have always loved Lego. It was my favourite toy as a kid and now, I still collect them. I love building the intricate little details and displaying my creative little Lego models. While on the look out for more of those special little sets, I came across the latest Lego Mindstorms NXT. The demonstration was pretty impressive. It seems Lego has taken a leap from simple building blocks to actual robots!

The Lego Mindstorms NXT is not only buildable, but programmable as well. It is very easy to use, the Lego Mindstorms NXT software comes with building and programming instructions. They have four models which you can program to do what you want.

These Mindstorms NXT robots are Bluetooth enabled, which enables you to control the robots remotely, like your mobile or PDA. These robots feature built-in rotation sensors for precision control. Sound sensors enable the robots to respond to sound commands. It even has tone recognition! Ultrasonic sensors enable the robots to see obstacles, measure distances and even responds to movements. The robots have touch sensors which reacts to contact or release, which allow these robots to feel their surroundings. It also has improved light sensors which enables the robots to differentiate between different colours.
