Skype

I’m sure most of you have used some or other VoIP (voice over IP) program before. I myself have used various ones. Skype is the one who I’ve decided to stick with because it has the best quality. I chat to a lot of people abroad and the clarity of the line is always great. Even on a really slow connection (on the receivers end

) we still manage to have a clear voice chat session. Except once, but their connection was terrible, it was dial up and even so, it only blocked one side of the conversation. I could hear them, but they couldn’t hear me. And even with a one way conversation, it was crystal clear. There are also not many interruptions, like with so many other chat programs, where it suddenly cuts off. The main difference between Skype and other VoIP clients is that Skype operates on a peer-to-peer model, rather than the more traditional server-client model.

Now Skype has reached a little further and introduced a new feature, which they call Skype Out, whereby you can make PC to phone calls. This is great of course, as some of their rates are a little cheaper than phoning from your landline. It’s also been made very easy to use. You log in, top up with your debit or credit card and in as little as 15 minutes, your Skype has been topped up and ready to start making calls. It even has an txt / sms (short message) service available. The nice part is that you can view their rates on their site, to landlines and mobiles.

Skype has a shop section, where they have a variety of hardware to further enjoy your Skype experience. Now they have phones available which look like landline phones and some like mobile phones, which plug into your PC and receive only Skype calls.
VoSKY Call Center

Make Skype calls from your mobile phone, the nearest phone, any phone! Another product to enhance your Skype experience. Before, you had to sit in front of the computer and wear cumbersome headsets for Skype calling. Now VoSKY Call Center takes the great sound quality and low cost of Skype calls and makes these features accessible everywhere, on any phone. Plus all the features of our “internet Phone Wizard” so you can make and receive Skype and landline calls from your home phone.
If you enjoy chatting online, have friends or family far away or just enjoy taking a leap from your average phone line, I'd suggest hooking up with Skype
Just as an added note, the
Nokia N800 Internet Tablet now also comes with Skype capabilities, meaning, you can now use the VoIP Skype service, over your mobile phone!
