I am an avid Star Wars fan and couple that with my love for gadgets, you get the R2-D2 Mobile Entertainment System. This little replica of the well known and loved, R2-D2 is a DVD player and projector, game console projector, iPod Dock, stereo speakers and CD, MP4 and MP3 player. The R2-D2 Mobile Entertainment System also includes a webcam, USB lighsaber phone, full remote control and even has real R2-D2 sounds He sounds great doesn’t he? Still expensive, around £1300. Although, that would be the going rate for a projector anyway.

The R2-D2 Mobile Entertainment System is Skype enabled and the USB lightsaber phone can be used along with the integrated webcam for a wireless, motorised communication experience. With this webcam feature, you could actually have the R2-D2 Mobile Entertainment System running around your house while you’re out and you can have full view of what’s going on while you’re not there.

The lightsaber USB phone doubles as a remote control. It looks like Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber and with just a rotation of the handle, the dial / control pad will be visible. Although the R2-D2 Mobile Entertainment System can also be controlled online, wirelessly from anywhere. This is done through the software which comes with the R2-D2 Mobile Entertainment System The lightsaber even has it’s own sound effects While you can move Artoo around, he has sensors which enable him to avoid tricky areas. He comes complete with his own Artoo sounds and lights up giving you that authentic Artoo feel.

It is obviously an expensive gadget, but one I will definitely be investing in soon!
