Xbox 360
Wednesday, August 22, 2007As an avid gamer, I’m interested in all types of consoles, but I’m sticking solid to my PC as I not only use it for gaming, but so much more, and prefer to be able to upgrade than buy a new console every year or so. That said, I can still appreciate a good gaming device

I decided to have a look at what the big hype is about the Xbox 360. I suppose the advantage of consoles to PC is that unless you really know what you’re doing with your PC, you won’t be able to fix it on your own if you run into problems. Although, I personally think the advantages of PC is much better than a console, but let’s have a look the Xbox 360’s features.
The Xbox 360 has a better look, feel, sound and game play to it’s games, then ever before. The graphics are described as movie-like with anti-aliasing and it has multi-channel surround sound. This is good for listening to you music, or watching videos and photos. It plays DVD’s and has a music rip feature, allowing you to store the music onto the Xbox 360’s hard drive. This all makes it easier to share these files.

The Xbox 360 has a Live Marketplace, helping you keep up to date with new content. You can use the Live Marketplace to personalize your Xbox 360 experience. All you need is to connect your Xbox 360 to your broadband connection and not only will you be ready for the Live Marketplace, but you’ll also be able to play alongside or against other Xbox 360 players. Once online, you can take advantage of Xbox Live, where you’ll have access to these shared games. You’ll get your own Gamertag where you can identify yourself to other players. While playing with other players, you can use voice chat and talk to the players you’re playing with. The Live Marketplace and Xbox live has no extra cost, other than your broadband connection cost.
For around £280 you could own a Xbox 360. And even though I think I might stick to my PC, if I was in the millionaire’s club, I’d get one myself

Although, I still prefer a
keyboard and
mouse to the game pad on most games
