Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Wi
Wednesday, August 22, 2007I’ve become accustomed to my
mouse and
keyboard when playing games. The only games I’d still prefer a controller for are for the old Nintendo games, which I some times play online. Not that I do all that bad with the keyboard

But for those of you who would rather let your thumbs do the work, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows is the perfect solution.
It seems that now with
Sony Microsoft’s Vista, they are wanting to make Windows games more of a plug-and-play experience, making the gaming experience the same as on consoles. Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows is the first in line for this new idea of theirs.

I personally think this is a load of crap. I stick to PC gaming, because of the definitive differences. They’re trying to merge the two but the PC gaming experience is unique, as are the consoles. PC gamers are use to the more flexible keyboard and mouse functions.
Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows is a peripheral which enables you to wirelessly use any
Xbox 360 accessory on your Windows XP or Vista PC. The device itself is quite small, with only a single green LED and a connection button. It has a 6 foot USB cable. I think they could have put a little more effort into making it a smaller, cable-less dongle, but that’s just me. It’s suppose to communicate with any any
Xbox 360 device, which includes the 360 wireless gamepad, the Xbox 360 Wireless Headset, the wireless racing wheel and any more devices they might be bringing out in the future.
An advantage of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows is if you already have a
Xbox 360 you won’t have to buy PC specific controllers which are costly, for a decent one. You might run into some problems with compatibility issues with games which lack gamepad support. You may also need to unplug nearby URL=http://www.inspector-gadget.co.uk/blog_51.shtml>Xbox 360s to avoid any conflicts which may occur.
A good buy, for the console fan trying their hand at some PC gaming. Although, probably not something I myself will invest in
