Bluetooth-watch Sony Ericsson MBW-100

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

I haven’t worn a watch in years. I always did, but now I have my PDA or mobile phone or even my PSP which not only helps me remember my appointments and keeps the time for me, but they each have their own features which is what makes them such great gadget must haves.
The Bluetooth-watch Sony Ericsson MBW-100 is not only a fashion accessory, but now an accessory for you mobile phone as well. This Bluetooth equipped watch will take your mobile phone usage to a new level of gadget frenzy. It has a small OLED display which alerts you when you get a txt message and incoming phone call with caller ID, so you can see who’s calling without having to take out your mobile phone. You’ll also be able to either mute (both watch & handset) or even decline the call without taking our your phone. It also features a silent alarm which vibrates when it notifies you. It is a pity though, that the Bluetooth-watch Sony Ericsson MBW-100 can’t display your txt messages on its OLED display

The watch has three buttons, the clock winder itself, as it can be pressed and the two on either side of it. The lower buttons opens the menu, with various options like Bluetooth activation, SMS (txt) notification, coupling mode and handset time synchronization. The Bluetooth-watch Sony Ericsson MBW-100 watch is definitely bulky and weighs a good 182 grams, but considering that this little guy takes ‘hands free’ to a new level and you’ll just get use to the extra weight The watch is also water proof, but it’s not suggested you swim with it, seeing as it has inner side housing charger contacts. With phosphorescent powder making the hands glow in the dark, this little digital dream has thought of everything.

There is only one down side to the Bluetooth-watch Sony Ericsson MBW-100, it has been designed to work with only Sony Ericsson mobile phones, which support pairing. Other Bluetooth enabled phones would be able to pair up, but the features would not work.

The Bluetooth-watch Sony Ericsson MBW-100 does have more very handy features. You can listen to music on your headset or earphones while controlling play, pause, FWD and skip. Oh and the watch will also notify you should you be out of range from the handset. Battery life is always a problem with these gadgets though. If you receive many calls, it might only last two or three days. There is one annoying aspect of this though, should the battery run out before you charge it, the watch will also stop, forcing you to reset the time. You will receive a charging cable with your Bluetooth-watch Sony Ericsson MBW-100 which attaches to the watch so you can charge it. It only takes around an hour to charge fully.

Well I for one sincerely hope that this watch becomes available to other mobile phone brands and it’d be awesome if I could even get one for my PDA. In which case, I would most definitely buy it

Happy Shopping!
