iPod
Wednesday, August 22, 2007Since it’s launch in 2001, the Apple iPod has become the biggest selling portable hard disk player. There are various models as well as various storage capacities ranging anything from 512MB to 80GB, this latest iPod containing a video feature as well. Apparently it is very user friendly and comes complete with iTunes, which allow you to buy songs online for your iPod. To play CD tracks on you iPod, all you have to do is copy the tracks onto your iTunes library and from there onto the iPod. It also has a wide variety of accessories to choose from. All in all it is a great idea, and one that has earned Apple millions.

I blatantly refuse to buy one though, for one reason. The price. Ever since the iPod came out I found it ridiculous that they would charge that much for such a simple thing and found it even more ridiculous that there were people willing to buy them! I mean, lets face it, all in all, apart from the new iPods with the video feature, it is nothing but a fancy mp3 player. And there are tons of them on sale for a tenth of the price an iPod sells for!

The iPod became more of a fashion statement then anything else, and for that price, which ranges anything from £100 to £250, I’d rather buy myself something more productive. On the mp3 player front I prefer my mobile phone – price doesn’t constitute extortion, has a Walkman incorporated AND I can make phone calls AND I can take pictures and make videos AND it comes with a couple of games as well! (iPod, eat your heart out!) - But then, that’s just me.
Happy Shopping!
