I kinda got sick of always struggling to listen to our DVD’s. The sound is just always so low. We wanted to buy a couple of speakers with a subwoofer but it was pretty expensive and we’re on a tight budget at the moment. We were in store all over London but the cheapest we could find was £160! So we went online instead & found a system which not only plays really well, but looks absolutely great as well! And we only paid £60 for it A great bargain, definitely.

The Lafayette LFC771 2.1 CD & DVD Home Cinema System is a Dolby 2.1 system with 2 slim stereo speakers, along with a subwoofer. The DVD player is smaller than the regular players and has a top-loading motorised disc mechanism. I suggest that you double check just how much space you have above it though, it needs about 125mm of space when it opens. The whole system if mainly white, the DVD player, subwoofer and speakers, with blue LEDs on both the DVD player and subwoofer (well it matches my PC’s fans ).

There are plenty of cable connections and for some one who’s more familiar with PC cables than TV cables, even I managed to get it working… eventually It works great, even hooked up to my Wii. There is no Scart connection on the DVD player itself, but it does have a handy little cable which will plug into a Scart socket from one end. My favourite part of the the Lafayette LFC771 2.1 CD & DVD Home Cinema System is that I can connect it to my PC easily and have great sound quality! And it’s easy. My LCD TV has a socket on the side which is easily accessible which means I just plug it out & connect it to the back of my PC or even laptop. Only a pity my PDA can’t connect to it
