D-Link DSL-G624T 54Mbps Wireless ADSL2+ router
Wednesday, August 22, 2007After having finally bought a laptop as well, we decided to go wireless. The
D-Link Wireless ADSL2+ router is fantastic. It does have four LAN ports if you don't want to buy an adapter for each desktop which is handy. It's easy to use, only took a couple of minutes to set up. Only problem we ran into was to get the wireless adapter to work on one of the desktops, but with a little Google, that sorted itself out as well.

Here are some features:
- Free USB Adaptor DWL-G122.
- 1 x ADSL and ADSL 2+ port. 4 x 10/100Mbps fast Ethernet switch ports
- IEEE 802.11g compliant.
- Combined Wireless Router and ADSL Modem Solution
- Wirelessly Connect to the Internet With 802.11g Technology
- Up to 150x Faster Than Dial-Up Modems
- Network address translation (NAT)
- Integrated 802.11g wireless access point
- 54Mbps data rate with auto fallback
- Detachable 2 dBi reverse SMA antenna
- 256-bit WEP encryption and WPA security
- Disable SSID
- Mac address filtering
- Support for wireless repeating (requires DWL-2100AP)
- Integrated ADSL2+ modem - 1 x RJ11 connection
- NAT based firewall with denial of service detection (DoS)
- Integrated DHCP server
What's Included?
- D-Link DSL-G624T 4-Port 54Mbps Wireless ADSL2+ Router
- External power adapter
- 1 x 3m CAT5 straight ethernet cable
- 1 x 2m RJ11 cable
- Printed installation guide
- Resource CD
It's fast, easy to use and not too expensive. My kind of gadget

It's also good if you're just starting out with wireless and still not 100% sure what to do. We've had it a few months and so far so good.
Happy Shopping!
As an after thought, I did some reading on other people's experience with this and it seems that a lot of people agree that they have problems with it, as it sometimes cuts off and then needs to be restarted. Not everyone says this, but the majority does. This problem doesn't seem to be able to be rectified, but with time, on the same wireless network, it does it less and less. Guess you're either lucky or you're not with this one
