Mortal Kombat: Armageddon

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for my
Wii a few weeks ago and I have been having a blast. It’s so good in fact, that my better half even likes it and she doesn’t usually take to games as I do. If I want a LAN partner, it takes a whole lot of begging first

But I must say that
Midway has delivered and I’m quite pleased with it. Playing on your own is ok, it’s good, although I prefer playing those types of games multiplayer, makes it more interesting. We usually go for about half an hour every night just before calling it a night. Like a late night shot of espresso! My adrenaline is always pumping after a good game.

Alright, so let’s sum it up. The unique features of the Wii-mote, enables the fighter, aka player, to execute special moves and fatalities with a few gestures. Although, the GameCube controller as well as the classic controller are also usable in the Wii’s Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, but I’m just guessing not quite as fun as those grand gestures.

There are more than 60 characters to choose from. The originals are there… Sonya (a personal favourite), Sub-Zero, Liu Kang (although not fully alive anymore…), Raiden, Shao Kahn, Mortaro and countless others. There’s an endurance mode which is pretty kewl, it’s all about stamina in there. Oh and the all new Kreate a Fighter mode is interesting. You not only create but define a fighters look, abilities and personality. And with all this new customization, there’s even a Kreate a Fatality System, whereby you create your own fatalities by stringing together a series of attack combos. Komquest mode is now a little more adventure, instead of just a training mission, as before.

All in all, I did really want this game but hesitated at the high cost of new Wii games, but I’m glad I shelled out for it. It’s one of my top favourite Wii games. Good work Midway and thanks for adding yet another thing for me to waste countless hours on
